Négociations en cours pour un achat par Netflix.

Quite simply, an adult-themed thriller isn’t a good fit for the family friendly Disney+ streaming service, and release calendars are going to be overloaded when movie theaters reopen and audiences return. Like some other pictures that have gone from studios to streamers — the Tom Hanks WWII thriller Greyhound‘s trek from Sony to Apple is a good example — cash-strapped studios are sitting on finished films, and cash-rich streamers can’t get enough of them. Creating revenue events on some seems like good business especially when the film didn’t fit the Disney mandate anyway and was a Fox 2000 holdover. Netflix gains a fresh movie with a standout cast that includes Julianne Moore, Gary Oldman, Tracy Letts (who wrote the script), Bryan Tyree Henry, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Anthony Mackie and Wyatt Russell.
"Our films were never intended for a passive audience. There are enough of those kinds of films being made. We wanted our audience to have to work, to have to think, to have to actually participate in order to enjoy them."

Joe Wright revient sur la production difficile du film après le tournage principal.

"Oh my God. There were some plot points that people found a bit confusing — I would say possibly too opaque maybe," he concedes of the initial test screenings that led to the much-discussed reshoots. "So we had to go back and clarify certain points, but I think also we tried to make sure we didn't oversimplify anything and make things too clear. There's an enjoyment in not knowing what's going on, but at the same time, you have to give the audience something to hold on to — you have to lead them through the labyrinth of mystery and fear."

Du coup l'achat par Netflix est confirmé et ça devrait sortir dans l'année.
A noter que le score de Atticus Ross et Trent Reznor avait été rejeté par la prod, c'est finalement Danny Elfman qui signera la BO.
