Découvertes coups de cœur de l'année

Coup De Tête de Jean-Jacques Annaud

C'est ça le truc vendu par certains comme la comédie française la plus réussie jamais réalisée ? Bah merde alors...
Non pas que le film soit mauvais, loin de là, c'est juste que, hormis le caractère outrancier du personnage principal, c'est terriblement anecdotique, de l'écriture Veber classique avec un mec que l'on sous-estime et qui finira finalement par entuber tout le monde. Bref, ce n'est pas mémorable, mais le pire vient du fait que c'est pas spécialement drôle non plus. Alors on dira ce qu'on voudra sur l'humour et sa réception subjective, mais en l'état le film n'a provoqué chez moi qu'un sourire amusé au mieux, et uniquement lorsque le récit ose aller dans des sujets épineux (notamment le viol, toute la partie interrogatoire au commissariat est bien rigolote).
Là où le film mérite tout de même des éloges, c'est sur la qualité du jeu d'acteur. En ce qui concerne la mise en scène, c'est du Annaud minimaliste qui s'efface derrière son sujet. Ça aurait pu être réalisé par Molinaro ou Veber lui-même qu'il n'y aurait eu aucune différence.
Alors qu'on trouve le film drôle ou chouette, ok, mais sérieux on a quand même eu bien mieux niveau comédie française, que ce soit avant ou après.

C'est vrai que Scalp l'a vendu comme une bonne comédie, alors qu'il s'agit plus d'une comédie-dramatique. Il n'y a pas beaucoup de moments marrants à proprement-dit, mais cette galerie de tronches de français moyens, petits et mesquins, prête constamment à sourire. Un peu comme dans les (bons) films de Mocky. Et c'est vrai, comme l'indique Alegas, que cinématographiquement, il faut s'intéresser au jeu des acteurs et pas au reste.

Don Jon de Joseph Gordon-Levitt

J'étais plus qu'optimiste concernant ce film, la promo annonçait une romcom sympathique et à l'arrivée on a un film difficilement mémorable.
Alors tout d'abord, le gros problème du métrage c'est évidemment le fait que ce soit un premier film. On ne le dira jamais assez, un premier film totalement réussi, c'est rare, et Don Jon souffre de quasiment la totalité des défauts que l'on peut trouver dans le premier essai de réalisation de la part d'un acteur. Déjà, c'est plutôt nombriliste, et on a vraiment l'impression de regarder une pellicule faite pour mettre en valeur l'acteur. Ensuite, c'est mal réalisé. Gordon-Levitt a beau être un bon acteur (un film comme Looper l'a largement prouvé), il n'a aucun talent pour la mise en scène, au point qu'il se sent obligé, afin de combler ses lacunes, de tomber dans la pure facilité en utilisant des gimmicks hypes et lourdingues au possible. Voix-off omniprésente, montage ultra-rapide, effets "Gondry", la forme de Don Jon est sans âme, sans personnalité et s'avère en plus être assez moche.

Enfin, le propos du film. Là on atteint LE gros défaut. Car là où Gordon-Levitt aurait pu s'en sortir en livrant juste une romcom honnête, il décide de se la jouer ambitieux avec un film qui se veut être une parabole sur la vision du sexe dans la société d'aujourd'hui, éduquée au porno. Déjà, c'est traitée de façon ultra-grossière, Gordon-Levitt se disant sûrement que le quotidien d'un addict au porno ne mérite pas un semblant de subtilité, et du coup l'évolution du personnage ne fonctionne tout simplement pas, et à ce niveau là Don Jon est l'antithèse total d'un film comme Shame qui, malgré sa froideur, ne faisait jamais de concession, que ce soit au spectateur ou au personnage. La cerise sur le gâteau étant le morale de l'histoire, 1H30 de film pour apprendre que le sexe, c'est plus intense avec des sentiments, pas de doute c'est l'idée scénaristique de l'année là.

Niveau casting, c'est bien simple, hormis Gordon-Levitt et Tony Danza, il n'y a rien à sauver. La sœur sert à que dalle, Julianne Moore a rarement été aussi mal mise en valeur dans un film, et Scarlett Johansson confirme la tendance qu'elle a depuis plusieurs années à tomber dans la facilité concernant ses rôles. Autant l'actrice démarrait de façon fulgurante avec des films comme Lost In Translation ou Match Point, autant là elle se complaît à être la nana à gros seins dans tout les films qu'elle choisit, et c'est bien dommage.
Ni un bon film sur l'addiction, ni un bon moyen pour voir du cul, ni même une bonne comédie, bref passez votre chemin. Gordon-Levitt en réalisateur, c'est un fiasco.
