Bizarre, ma seule expérience IMAX (disney village) était une tuerie. Il vous faut quoi ? L'écran est démentiel et la qualité d'image est hallucinante.

A la base à Disney c'était de l'IMAX argentique, donc qualité incomparable. Mais depuis tout est passé en numérique, qualité bien inférieure et donc écran pas adapté à une résolution moindre. Les projos devaient passer en 4k, je ne sais pas si c'est fait depuis...

Sinon j'ai enfin vu le 1er Hobbit. Je connaissais pas l'histoire et ben très déçu, c'est vraiment hyper banal comme truc.

Un mec a remonté le Hobbit , premier film, pour en faire une version courte largement suffisante de 1h17 mais la vidéo a été bloquée.

S'il faisait la même avec le second film ca donnerait du 2h34 soit 3h51 pour la trilogie (en gros ça aurait pu faire un seul film version longue type Retour du Roi ou deux films de 1h50).
Dans sa version, on quitte la comté au bout de 20 min.

Un making-of de la scène des tonneaux, qui a le mérite à 0:57 de mettre en lumière ce que je reproche globalement à cette nouvelle trilogie : d'un côté on a un plan qui pourrait tout à fait figurer dans le SDA si l'on rajoute quelques effets pour notamment effacer le cameraman, et de l'autre un plan où absolument tout est retravaillé par ordinateur, au point que tout donne l'impression d'être virtuel sans l'être vraiment.

C'est abusé sérieux...autant ok le plan brut ne colle pas avec le genre fantasy et surtout The Hobbit, l'univers etc....mais le plan retravaillé c'est la fête du slip. Exactement ce qu'on reproche à PJ sur cette trilogie. Fantasy ok. Dessin animé, film d'animation , jeu vidéo non ! Mais bon c'est beau quand même et ça dépayse ! Faut pas non plus que la Terre du Milieu = Le Loir et Cher quoi...

Une comparaison des plans des trailers de la Désolation de Smaug et des mêmes plans dans le film. Il y a des choix de changement de photographie sacrément douteux, notamment dans le palais des Elfes qui rend bien mieux avec l'effet matte-painting.

Il y avait des rumeurs depuis un moment, c'est désormais officiel : le troisième film de la trilogie change de titre. On passe donc de There and Back again à The Battle of the Five Armies (ce qui convient mieux à mon sens, le titre original étant prévue à la base pour le diptyque).

Our journey to make The Hobbit Trilogy has been in some ways like Bilbo's own, with hidden paths revealing their secrets to us as we've gone along. “There and Back Again” felt like the right name for the second of a two film telling of the quest to reclaim Erebor, when Bilbo’s arrival there, and departure, were both contained within the second film. But with three movies, it suddenly felt misplaced—after all, Bilbo has already arrived “there” in the "Desolation of Smaug".

When we did the premiere trip late last year, I had a quiet conversation with the studio about the idea of revisiting the title. We decided to keep an open mind until a cut of the film was ready to look at. We reached that point last week, and after viewing the movie, we all agreed there is now one title that feels completely appropriate.

And so: "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" it is.

As Professor Tolkien intended, “There and Back Again” encompasses Bilbo’s entire adventure, so don’t be surprised if you see it used on a future box-set of all three movies.

Before then however, we have a film to finish, and much to share with you. It’s been a nice quiet time for us—Jabez and I happily editing away in a dark cave in Wellington—but those halcyon days are quickly coming to an end. It will soon be time to step into the light. Expect to see and hear much about The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in the coming months.

And there’s also The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Extended Cut, which we’re in the process of finishing, with over 25 mins of new scenes, all scored with original music composed by Howard Shore.

It’ll be a fun year!
