"Cette adaptation ne sera pas si fidèle que cela. Il s’agira bien d’un film de science-fiction, l’action sera grandiose et l’histoire sera la même que dans la BD : un train roule à grande vitesse alors que tout s’est écroulé sur terre et est enseveli sous la neige. Seule une poignée d'individus tente de survivre dans ce train et fera tout pour s'en sortir, y compris en s'entre-déchirant et en combattant. C’est d’ailleurs précisément autour du verbe « se battre » que tournera l’action du film. Je termine actuellement le scénario. Je pense que la pré-production sera terminée en 2010 et que nous pourrons tourner en 2011"



Film en pré prod pour 35 millions d'euros avec un casting majoritairement anglophone, Bong veut faire le film de train définitif

Toutes les pepites coréennes finissent dans des prod US ou international : Kim Jee-woon’s avec The Last Stand, Park Chan-wook avec Stocker et maintenant Bong.

On ne sait toujours pas si Song Kang-ho, annoncé tôt comme le rôle principal, est du casting mais Variety dévoile aujourd’hui que Tilda Swinton, vue récemment dans WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN, et Jamie Bell, le prodigieux Tintin de Spielberg, seraient en négociations pour rejoindre la distribution. Pas un mot de leurs rôles respectifs, malheureusement. Mais de ce qu’on en voit, niveau jeu, TRANSPERCENEIGE a l’air de vouloir envoyer le bois. Le tournage débutera en mars."

Can you talk about getting to be a part of that film? Who do you play? Everything.

Evans: I will tell you the whole deal, dude.

I don’t want you to spoil it.

Evans: No, it is okay. It takes place in the future. The whole world was frozen over and all of society lives on a train. It is kind of like an allegory for social classes and class warfare. The poorest people are in the back of the train and as you move forward in the train the classes rise. And there is a revolt, a revolution from the people in the back to the front of the train. We have such a good cast: Tidla Swinton, Ed Harris, Octavia Spencer, and John Hurt. It was just a great experience. Director, Bong [Joon-ho], is just so good. He is so good. The way we shot the movie is so unique. Most times when you are doing a movie…like if you and I were doing a scene, we would start out doing the wide shot, do the whole scene, then we would do your coverage, the whole scene, then my coverage, and then the whole scene. And then the editor would find the cut and would spoon feed the rhythm and the pace to the audience. Director Bong has storyboards laid out so that…he has already edited it in his brain. For example, we will shoot the first line on you. We will shoot the second line on me. We will shoot the third line over here and you say, “Wait a minute. Don’t you want the whole scene here?” and he is like. “No. Don’t need it.” He has already committed to an edit. It is brilliant. It is borderline genius. It’s like building a house and instead of needing a bag of nails, it is like saying, “I need 53 nails.” It is literally committing to a vision ahead of time. The trust that you feel is like, “God, this guy is operating on another plane.” And I completely surrendered to it. You just completely commit to his vision and trust that he knows exactly what he is doing because he does.

Si on a pas un bon film avec ce sujet, ce cast et ce réal ça serait étonnant. L'éloge de Chris Evans sur Bong Joon-Ho fait plaisir, on sent qu'il a eu l'experience de réal manchot avant ce tournage ..

Sinon qui a lu la BD elle est vraiment si bien que cela ?

With his South Korean brethren delivering their Hollywood debuts earlier next year, as Kim Ji-woon‘s The Last Stand arrives in January and Park Chan-wook‘s Stoker lands in March, it’s with great joy we have distribution news on Bong Joon-ho‘s English-language debut. The Host and Mother helmer completed production last year on Snow Piercer, a futuristic thriller based on the French graphic novel La Transperceneige and now we’ve got news out of AFM on when we may see it.
According to Deadline, The Weinstein Company have picked up the distribution rights for the film which follows a group of people on a train without a final destination, struggling to survive after the end of the world brings on a cataclysmic ice age. Starring Chris Evans, Ed Harris, Octavia Spencer, John Hurt, Jamie Bell, Tilda Swinton and Song-Kang-ho, no firm release has been set but inside sources say that a wide summer 2013 is “likely.” Considering the distributor has no major films set for that time period, we can only hope this is true — I could even see a Cannes debut before said release. Stay tuned for updates as they arrive for one of our most-anticipated films of next year.
