En voilà une bonne nouvelle : John Logan écrirait tout seul le prochain James Bond et la sortie serait déja prévu pour fin 2014.

Alors que sur Skyfall John Logan a juste réécrit le scénario des deux gus qui ont écrit les 5 derniers James Bond.

With the 23rd installment in the long running James Bond arriving in the form of Skyfall next week, Columbia Pictures and MGM are already getting James Bond 24 ready to go. The film is already being eyed for release in late 2014 (going along with the proposed plan of having a new James Bond every two years), and now The Daily Mail has word that Skyfall writer John Logan will take on scripting duties. And while he re-wrote the script for the sequel by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (who have written each of the last five James Bond films), this time he will write Agent 007's adventures all by himself. Bond 24, which won't get a title for a little while, is already in pre-production across the pond with a plan to shoot late next year. It's going to be a pretty fast turnaround, so hopefully they can meet the proposed fall premiere date in 2014 without rushing the production. But since there's already an outline for the film completed (only producers Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, Daniel Craig and a few other trusted people know the story) getting the script finished shouldn't take too long. Logan is a solid writer who penned The Last Samurai, The Aviator and Hugo, so this should be another great Bond in the making. In the meantime, we'll just have to wait patiently for Skyfall to hit IMAX screens and conventional theaters next week

Deadline reports that Logan’s pitch to Broccoli and Wilson was for a two-movie arc and that Logan has reportedly already started writing the scripts. If this were to work out, it means Bond’s 24th and 25th installments would mark the first time in the series that a story has been told over multiple features. The Bond films may also fall into line with the vogue of shooting films back-to-back, but it’s too early to do anything other than speculate. Skyfall kicks off its international debut starting today, with a U.S. launch date of November 9th.

En fait le scénariste aurait pitché durant le tournage de Skyfall aux producteurs une histoire qui s'étalle sur 2 films, ça semble logique vu que Daniel Craig a signé pour 2 autres films. (Certainement ces 2 derniers en tant que Bond)

Pour une fois on aura une véritable continuité dans la saga et peut être du coup un arc narratif un peu plus ambitieux. Certains évoque la possibilité d'un seul tournage pour les 2 films. Après va savoir si Mendes rempilera ou pas.

Assez étrange comme décision, ça s'éloigne pas mal de l'esprit James Bond, et j'ai peur qu'une histoire étirée sur deux films rende le truc lourdingue et didactique à la TDKR.
Pour Mendes, il a déclaré vouloir renouveler l'expérience en cas de succès pour Skyfall, ce qui est d'ores et déjà le cas.
